QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

How Does the Process Work?

1.) Let's Be Friends

Schedule your complimentary consultation and we'll schedule a phone call or video chat where I get to know more about the two of you and we'll discuss your vision, scheduling, location ideas, and questions you have.

2.) Make it Official!

Once you've chosen a date, we'll sign the contract, pay the retainer, and start looking for your perfect destination!

3.) Nailing Down the Details

I'll send my planning guide loaded with information, how-tos, and helpful tips & tricks! I'll also send a questionnaire for the two of you to go over that will help me scout out the best locations for your wedding destination, start searching for vendor recommendations if necessary, and research permits & laws to make sure we're doing things the right way. You'll book your vendors and fill out the necessary paperwork and permits yourselves, but I'll handle any and all travel for myself, with the exception of on-site excursions. And if there's anything you have questions about or need help deciding I'm here for it all!

4.) Get Married!

It's here! Whether it's a 3 am wake up and walk to your destination by headlamp before sunrise, or a sunset ceremony with the alpenglow sky in the background, I'll be there documenting your day from start to finish. The day is totally up to you, so if you'd like me to meet you at your hotel room beforehand for preparation shots I'll be there, or I can just meet you on location. After the sun has gone down and the portraits are over, often couples will have me follow them to dinner to document a little cake cutting, speeches (if there are guests), and then part ways at that point. Or if you just want to go back to your accommodations, that's ok too! The day is yours and I'll never pressure you to do more or less than you want.

What do we do for 8 hours during an elopement?

Don't worry - this definitely isn't an 8-hour photoshoot. This is 8 hours of you having the best day ever I'm just there to document it! You'll share new experiences, see new things, get married, and celebrate all within that time period. The time goes by pretty quickly when the day actually comes, especially when you're including things like hiking, ATV rides, kayaking, pub hopping, fireside celebrations, helicopter rides, and exploring new locations.

How far in advance should we expect to book?

I've helped couples plan elopements from 2 years out all the way to 2 weeks out! But most couples book around 6-9 months away from the wedding day so that we have enough time to obtain the necessary permits, score a dress, and find travel accommodations.

Can we bring our family, friends, or pets?
Absolutely! More often than not, I'm photographing elopements that have a few guests to help share the day with the couple. But my advice - only bring guests with you if that's what YOU want and if they'll contribute to your happiness that day, not take away from it. If you don't think that will be the case, think about including them in other ways! I have plenty of ideas to share that will help them feel included without being physically present.

As far as pets - I love meeting new furry friends! But if you're bringing them along with you on the trails, I ask that they be leashed and recommend having someone else with us that can handle them so it's not something you'll need to worry about when they get tired, bored, or uncomfortable in their environment.

If an adventurous elopement sounds like the perfect wedding experience for you, inquire about availability & ask questions!

Adventure Wedding and Elopement Photographer U.S.

Kind Words

"SHE WAS THE ONE"

We’re not even home from our wedding yet, but Carly sent us a sneak peak before she left town and WOW! She’s amazing. She’s also a trooper. We absolutely needed an adventure photographer who could see our vision and literally get down & dirty hiking to our elopement location. SHE WAS THE ONE.

Our day started @ 3am at the bottom of the canyon in Zion NP hiking 7 miles roundtrip Observant Point to a cliff’s edge in 25° weather. Then it ended in a river bed at the bottom of another canyon with her capturing every single moment.

If you are looking for an “adventure photographer” look no further.

Thank you, Carly!

"We Could Not Be Happier!"

Carly was incredible to work with. She helped with so much more than just photography! She truly was there to assist in anything to ensure that the day ran smoothly, and she is such a fun and friendly person! Everyone enjoyed her presence and talking to her. And the photos were absolutely stunning! We could not be happier. She was able to capture so many things that we didn't even think of. We are more than happy and would always recommend her.

"Makes You Feel So Comfortable"

We have worked with Carly on several different occasions and recently had her capture our wedding. She flew from Pennsylvania to Las Vegas to capture our special day. One of the best things about Carly is that she is there to support even your craziest ideas. There is a minimal amount of posing, and most of the photos are candids of you and your significant other being yourselves. Carly is so much fun to work with and makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Not to mention, our photos are ALWAYS to die for. As a wedding planner myself, I would suggest Carly to any of my couples! Thank you so much for taking the time to capture our special day!
