Leabeth and Justin planned on an intimate forest elopement before the pandemic made Microweddings a big thing. They had always wanted for a low-key, romantic affair with their closest family and friends in attendance, and Savage River Lodge provided the perfect location for this.
Savage River Lodge is located in Northwest Maryland near Frostburg. Leabeth prepared for the day in one of their rustic wooden cabins, which the couple also stayed in that night. Side note: they're dog friendly! I got to meet their little potato puppies and had do everything in my power not to just roll on the floor with them. After Leabeth put on the final touches, we drove down to the lodge and then to the ceremony site.
Their ceremony was tucked away in the forest among the pines and fern. Their family and friends were seated on log benches surrounding the couple. After they said "I Do" there were cheers and applause, and then lots of pictures with their guests. Eventually everyone walked and rode back up to the lodge for drinks on the patio, while we stayed behind for pictures of the newlyweds.
Once we were finished documenting Leabeth & Justin, we made our way back to the patio with the rest of the guests. Savage River Lodge created a beautiful dinner setting for everyone on their covered porch with a view of the forest and hanging string lights. Though I didn't stay long after, I know the crew celebrated and had a wonderful evening together with good food, good drinks, and good company.
