It's one of the most amazing wedding experiences I've ever photographed, and probably the coolest city I've ever visited! 

People affiliate NOLA with a party scene, but from someone who's a self-proclaimed non-partying grandma, I promise you there's SO much more to this city than bar hopping on Bourbon St. (though I will admit it was a pretty good time!). The rich culture, the Spanish-inspired architecture, the culinary scene, the spooky ghost stories, the high-energy, and the people are all part of what make New Orleans one of my top picks for a destination wedding. Plus it's a great option if you're thinking of getting married in the winter or early spring!

Where else in the world can you have your own personal parade when you get married?? The "Second Line" is maybe the best part of the New Orleans wedding experience! Plus you can plan a slew of activities for the entire weekend, including a swamp tour, a dark history tour, beignets at Café du Monde, nightly live music on Frenchman Street, Po Boys and boutique shopping in the French Quarter, a drive around the Garden District, and cemetery tours!

This city is just as much of an adventure as mountains and trails, and should definitely be considered when choosing the perfect destination for your wedding day!
